Festival Schedule 28-29 August

Dear Friends,

Tomorrow we celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna. You are warmly invited to come to the temple to hear, chant, and dance in celebration. Lord Brahma, the first created being, describes Lord Krishna: “I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, round whose neck is swinging a garland of flowers beautified with the moon-locket, whose hands are adorned with the flute and jewelled ornaments, who always revels in pastimes of love, whose graceful threefold-bending form of Shyamasundara is eternally manifest.” Brahma Samhita 5.31.

On Thursday, 29 August, we honour our Founder Acharya and beloved, Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada blessed the earth by sowing the seeds of devotion to the Supreme Lord, Krishna. By Srila Prabhupada’s grace we are able to celebrate festivals like Sri Krishna Janmashtami on a grand scale. You are invited to offer Srila Prabhupada homage on Thursday. You can make a garland to offer to Srila Prabhupada or bring a food offering. For details of food offerings please call Sukumari Dasi: 031 4033328 between 10am-4pm. Please bring you food offerings to the amphitheatre before 11am.
