Dear Friends
On Saturday we embark on our first large-scale outreach festival outside of the Temple in some years. This festival is quite different from what we have experienced before. As a celebration of the variegatedness prevalent in South Africa, this festival aims to uncover everyone’s innate connection with Krishna through our different cultures and heritages. This approach is something Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur and following him, Srila Prabhupada greatly desired — to show how we are spiritually one in our cultural diversity.
Why the One Spirit Tree?
Memorialize our unified spirit by adding your palm print on the One Spirit Tree. This is a simple but beautiful way to appreciate our heritage visually. Simply dip your hand into a paint colour of your choice and place your palm print on the tree. There is a facility to wash up.
Heritage Peace Parade 10am-12pm
Encourage everyone you know to come and dress in their heritage clothing and join the sacred sounds parade and raise the vibration of the city. We have been through so much as a community and the parade aims to spread sacred sound to clear the atmosphere.
What to expect at the Spirit Lifestyle Market?
We partnered with the eThekwini Economic Development and Planning, Business Support & Market Unit and welcome ten local crafters who form part of the city’s Poverty Alleviation Initiative. There will be a variety of delicious vegan and vegetarian food and entrepreneurs selling a variety of quality products.
