Dear Friends,
Festival season begins with the Women’s Day Tea Party on Friday, 9 August. Women in modern society face many challenges. Duties within the home and at work leave women with little time for themselves. So, we urge all you ladies to take the morning off and spend time with us. We will address challenges women face providing a spiritual outlook on daily activities.
Highlights:
1. Raising God conscious children – spiritual responsibility to our family
2. Vegetarianism – sustaining a healthy body and mind
3. Modern women in spiritual practice
4. Body language for confidence – it’s not what you say, but how you say it
Internationally acclaimed South African-born singer, Shashika Mooruth, will entertain with her melodious bhajans. A special feature of the Vedic fashion show will enlighten guests on the traditional aspects of Vedic fashion by showcasing the different “Samskaaras” (rites of passage in life) through fashion. Guests will also be treated to a relaxing morning of discussions, give-aways and tea and cake. Admission is free though bookings are essential: 084 261 7605. For further information please call Krishangi Radhe Dasi on 083 254 8339.
To usher in the festival season we will be hosting an adhivas ceremony-the ceremony of auspiciousness, on the Ekadasi day, 17 August. This is also the first day of Jhulana-yatra. We will offer twenty-five items (earth, stone, paddy, durva, flowers, fruit, yoghurt, ghee, svastika, sindhura, conch, kajal, gorocana, white mustard seeds, gold, silver, copper, lamp, mirror, fragrant oil, turmeric, cloth, thread, camara, and candana) to Sri Sri Radha Radhanath.
